Now you should be able to see the belt on top of the tub, pull on it to see if its broken. If it is, replace it and your problem should be fixed. If its not broken, the switch can still be bad, although its unlikely. Next, remove the tub then unhook the belt by pulling the idler pulley toward the motor. This should release the tension from the belt then you should be able remove it.
